Some intriguing games are coming up this week, and with the way that the 2021 NFL standings sit, there should be some very exciting matchups with some superb endings. Here are my top 5 games, the odds, and my picks. Hopefully, the odds are forever in your favor.
Packers at Cardinals (-3.5), over/under 53
This is going to be one you don’t want to miss. The Packers are playing some good football right now, and of course, the Cardinals are the only undefeated team in the league. There’s going to be quite a collision. You couldn’t go wrong really taking either one. I’m not allowed to do that, so I’m going to go with the Cardinals at home and give the three and a half points. Go with the under. Personally, if you are trying to make some scratch, there are other games that offer an easier decision than this matchup. I’m going to stick with the team that’s on a big roll. Go Cards!
Titans at Colts (+1), over/under 49
With every week that goes by, the Titans are looking more and more like a real contender. The Colts, I believe, are on a level below that. Going to have to see a lot more from Carson Wentz to believe he can take the Colts farther than a respectable record. If the Titans play their usual, they control this one with D. Henry. Give the one point all day long and go with the under just barely. Titans D holds Wentz in check for the better part of 4 quarters. Taylor is looking good for Colt. He’s come into his own in his second NFL season but won’t be enough in this one.
Steelers at Browns (-3) over/under 42.5
Another difficult game to call: The Steelers have lost to good, and run-of-the-mill teams. They have also beaten the Bills, so go figure. The Browns running game has been decimated with injury, but D’Ernest Johnson averaged 6.6 yards a carry against the Broncos last week. If the Browns lose this game, they take a step back in 2021. Take the Browns and give the three, and don’t forget to cross your fingers. I’m going to say take the under.
Buccaneers at Saints (+4.5), over/under 50
There are some pretty good games in week 8, but none bigger than the one in the Big Easy. Loads of drama in this one with Saints quarterback Jameis Winston taking on his former team. We all know how good he can be at times, and of course, the opposite end of that is true as well. The question is: which will show? I’m thinking maybe some of both. Take the Bucs and give the four and a half points in a game that we get to him for 2 plus sacks and at least one pick. Take the over in this one. By all rights, it should be a shoot-out
Cowboys at Vikings (+1.5), over/under 54
The Cowboys are in the midst of a five-game winning streak which started after a hard loss on Dale Mabry to the Bucs. Dallas is a team that is still getting better. The Vikings, well, are the Vikings. They most often are underwhelming, to say the most. I see no danger to Dak and Zeke and their winning streak. Vikings are going to need a lot more than home-field advantage and a skimpy one and a half points. Give the points, and take the under.
