With the start of the 2020 NFL season right around the corner, here are three bold predictions for this Buccaneers’ team.
1. Ronald Jones will lead the team in total yards and will make the Pro Bowl: Last season RoJo was given the opportunity to show the fans what he can do, and he didn’t disappoint. After playing in 16 games with just 9 of them being starts, he ran for 724 yards, recording 4.2 yards per carry, as well as 31 receptions for 309 yards. This season it’s Jones’s time to shine. He will start the season as the number 1 back for the first time in his short career. If he can stay healthy, I believe he will lead this team in total yards, especially after showing that he can catch the ball out of the backfield, which was a knock against him when he first arrived in Tampa.
2. Vita Vea will be an All-Pro: When Vea was drafted, some fans did not like the pick, thinking that the Bucs didn’t need another DT. Not in the first round, at least. However, Vea has done nothing but shine and has improved every season. He might have only put up 2.5 sacks last season, but Vea’s job is not to collect sacks, his job is to use his considerable size and strength to draw double teams and wreak havoc in the backfield against the run. After last season, Vea established himself as a top 5 NT, and after this season, I believe he will be considered the best.
