The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had recently signed OLB Genard Avery, and to make room for him, the Bucs have waived the injured wide receiver Cyril Grayson with an injury designation.

Grayson suffered a hamstring injury in Week 8 vs the Carolina Panthers. Grayson missed the playoffs due to the injury but was considered healthy and was participating in training camp until suffering an undisclosed injury and missing the preseason game vs the Titans.

The veteran wide receiver played in 5 games, starting in 3, for the team last season, recording 10 receptions on 12 targets for 215 yards and 2 touchdowns. If Grayson goes unclaimed, he could revert to the team’s IR and is likely to be released with a settlement. There is still a chance down the road that Grayson could get healthy and make the team’s practice squad.
