Browns To Release Jarvis Landry?

The Buccaneers could be losing out on a key member of the offense; even if the word tag has been thrown around, wide receiver Chris Godwin could decide to leave. This would leave the organization looking for possible replacements through free agency, draft, and the current roster. Tyler Johnson has shown glimpses, but he is not ready to fill Godwin’s role in the offense yet.

If the rumors are true out of Cleveland, the Buccaneers should seriously look at veteran pass-catcher Jarvis Landry. The prolific pass catcher could easily step in and give the team Godwin-like production. Last season, Landry appeared in 12 games. He recorded 52 receptions for 570 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was a perennial Pro Bowler from 2015-to 2019. Landry is a high-volume pass catcher and is willing to mix it up down in the trenches. He would be the perfect complement to Mike Evans.

Landry is going to free up about $14.8 million for the Browns. He could possibly be ring searching. The NFC South isn’t going to be the battle it once was with every team seemingly rebuilding. The Buccaneers have the least amount of moving pieces, as crazy as that may sound. So, if the price isn’t too steep, Jason Licht and Company should consider bringing him in to help the offense next season.
