Richard Sherman Believes Bucs Will Go Championship Quarterback

On his self-titled podcast, Richard Sherman fielded a question about the Buccaneers quarterback situation and said that he believes that the Buccaneers will actively seek a championship type of quarterback but may not have a way to bring in Aaron Rodgers or Russell Wilson.

“I obviously think they still think they have a championship window. So I think they’re going to go championship quarterback. I don’t know if they have the funds, the salary cap to go after a guy — like a top guy, like Aaron or Russell Wilson or Deshaun Watson even. But I think that may be a route they explore. I don’t think they want to go with a rookie or draft anybody and expect them to come in and take them to a Super Bowl. So expect them to go the veteran route whether it’s through trade or free agency.”

Although Sherman had been with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for just a short period, he’s a smart guy and has been around the league long enough to get a feel for NFL football teams and how they think.

Despite “Comfortable” being utilized as a way to describe how Bruce Arians and the team feel about Kyle Trask, he and Jason Licht have both said that they will look behind door number 2.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have witnessed two seasons that are easily in the top 5 of the franchise’s history.  I would think the Buccaneers would like to continue that trend.
