The Buccaneers will face off against the Dallas Cowboys at Raymond James Stadium in roughly 13 days from now, on Sept. 9th.

The Bucs’ first game is approaching quickly, and head coach Bruce Arians wants to see his starters primed and ready to go on that day.

“They’re going a half next week because we’re going so long before we play. I mean, we can’t go against Dallas, who is really good, and all of a sudden play game speed. We better have some game speed under our belt before we show up against the Cowboys.”

The Bucs have played their starters in limitedly, playing just under 5 mins for a total of 6 plays. This Saturday in Huston, the Buccaneers starters will face the Texans in the final preseason game for at least the first half of football unless they crap the bed.

Bruce Arians expect the Buccaneers to show him something that he likes, or else they will stay on the field into the 3rd quarter.

“I hope to see what I want to see in this first half, or else we’ll still be playing in the third quarter. We have to play, and I have to see us play. They have to see themselves play.”

Despite the Buccaneers going against the Titans in back-to-back joint practices last week, Arians knows that those practices are far from a real game and will need the guys to be up to game speed for week 1.
