The continuing development of the first-round pick, Devin White has seen the inside linebacker become a defensive force over the past few weeks. Against the Jacksonville Jaguars, White recorded 5 solo tackles, 2 assists, an interception and a fumble recovery taken all the way for a score.
Again this performance has been recognized by White being nominated for Pepsi Rookie of the Week. Not for the first time either as lasts weeks 8 tackle and 2 sack game saw him nominated for the third time this year. That puts him level with Nick Bosa, also with 3 nominations, and ahead of Devin Bush who has 2 nominations. Max Crosby and Chase Winovich being the only winners from the defensive side of the football this year.
This week Devin goes against Ed Oliver of the Buffalo Bills, Juan Thornhill of the KC Chiefs, Taylor Rapp of the LA Rams and Miles Sanders of the Eagles.
From a purely statistical point of view, White should be this week’s winner. When you take into consideration the effect he has on his teammates around him, he should be the winner without a doubt. VOTE HERE: VOTE FOR THE ROOKIE OF WEEK 13
