Small Things To A Giant: The NFL Fines Suh For Pushing Baker Mayfield

But it’s the preseason!!! It sure is, and even in a meaningless game and in limited playing time you can earn yourself a healthy fine.

The NFL fined Suh $21,056 for pushing Baker Mayfield. He didn’t even “hit” him. The NFL is cracking down hard on defensive players hitting the quarterback after throw so much, in fact, you can not even lay a finger on a quarterback after he’s thrown.

Last year Jason Pierre-Paul found this out when his hand came down and lightly tapped Ben Roethlisberger’s helmet. He was charged with roughing the passer. Roethlisberger later admitted to flopping.

Suh merely pushed down Mayfield and considering his past, not only gave Tampa 15-yard penalty but earned himself a hefty little fine. I’m pretty sure he’s not feeling the impact of losing a little over $21k, it’s definitely small things to a giant.
