Andre Ellington’s addition is seeming to have been a wise move

A history together:

Andre Ellington was drafted by Bruce Almighty Arians when he was the Head Coach at Arizona. So, he was very familiar with the pass-catching running back. Even though Ellington had been out of football for a year, the Kangol hat-wearing coach had no reservations about giving him a call and inviting him to compete for a job with his new team. So far it appears this was a good move. The fact that Peyton Barber nor Ronald Jones has shown any propensity to be much of a receiver out of the backfield I’m sure made the call to Ellington an easy one to make. Arians had this to say about Andre.

“He is healthy. You saw his burst on a couple of runs today. He dislocated a finger and came right back in. He is such a great route-runner. I haven’t seen him this healthy since his rookie year. I mean, he is fast, he is quick and he has got his size back. He’s hungry.”

Nothing but good things to say:

Sounds like it’s nothing but good things to say concerning Ellington. Being the type of back that he is, and the fact that Winston will need to make better use of his check downs instead of forcing passes into tight spaces, it’s safe to say that if he continues as he has early on, he will become an asset to this team in short order.  Go Bucs!!
