What does #1 have to do with #5?

The draft is just a few days away, and of course, it’s that time where the smoke fills the air in layers of screening 10 miles thick, but occasionally, the truth finds its way through the fog.

According to multiple sources, the Cards are not taking Murray despite the rumors that they will take the baseball playing QB and shop Rosen. It seems that the Cards will keep Rosen at the helm and select Nick Bosa instead.

What does this mean for the Buccaneers if this rings true? Probably nothing. With the 49ers, Jets, and the Raiders ahead of Tampa, barring any trades, the draft is could to go like this:

Bosa#1, Josh Allen #2, Rashan Gary #3, and Quinnen Williams # 4, leaving Tampa to select Ed Oliver at #5.

However, if by some chance Josh Allen is on the board when Tampa picks, you can take it to the bank that Allen will be in a Tampa for the 2019 season.

Although, nothing is ever set in stone, I still wouldn’t see the draft going much differently even if  Murray was taken #1 overall.
