How Will The Bucs Utilize Deone Bucannon?
1 min read
When the Bucs signed Deone Bucannon, they knew they were getting more than just a DB. Since entering the NFL he has been a hybrid type of player used at both Safety and LB, much like how the Rams have used Mark Barron.
Bucannon is an aggressive player that reads the run extremely well and is very adept at coming downhill. He is also very athletic. At 6’1″ and 215 lbs he ran a 4.49 FYD and had a 36″ vertical leap at his combine. On obvious passing plays, look for him to join the DBs and on runs, expect the opposite; Bucannon will likely join Lavonte David at MLB in Todd Bowles 3-4 defense. Whatever the case is this was a great signing, addressing a huge hole on defense.
