Matt Bryant had recently been released by the Atlanta Falcons, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers could finally find a way to fix their kicking curse.

According to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times, there could be a chance for a reunion and a reversal of the kicking curse that has been in place since Matt Bryant was released by Raheem all those years ago.

Stroud stated in his latest article that our new special teams coach, “Keith Armstrong said recently that he knows the importance of a good kicker.”

And quoted Armstrong: “Big time,” he said, “They win games, you know what I mean?”

Keith Armstrong was the Dolphins special teams coach from 2001-2007 before becoming the Falcons special teams coach from 2008 until 2018, and Stroud again quoted our new special team’s coach saying,

“When Olindo Mare came back at Miami, and we finished the season, I’m sitting there saying, ‘Huh, did we keep the right guy?’” Then Bryant comes up. As soon as we went to Atlanta and Bryant was let go here (Tampa), I went right in and got him, and he was the right guy.”

There may just be a new kicker in town. I wouldn’t mind Mr. 62 yarder returning.
