Never Before

Since the Buccaneers’ debut in the NFL, not one of their offenses has produced 594 yards. That is, until this past Sunday in New Orleans. Not even Tom Brady was able to produce those kinds of numbers. There are two reasons for that accomplishment: Liam Coen and the rushing game. Coen called a masterful game against the Saints. Baker Mayfield threw for 317 yards, and the rushing game produced 277 yards. Yes, you read that right. Sean Tucker (136 yards, 9.7 avg.) and Bucky Irving (81 yards, 5.8 avg.), even Sterling Shepard, got into the rushing fun, with 4 carries for 31 yards, a 7.8-yard average per carry. Only twice before have the Bucs put up more rushing yards in their history.

Offensive Coordinator

Liam Coen is turning the Bucs into a well-oiled machine. Make no mistake about it; this was an offensive beatdown of the Saints, our biggest rival. Coen will probably continue to set records with this offense. They are barely into their first season under Coen. It will make you salivate at the thought of what could be ahead for our Buccaneers. The downside is, of course, will he still be here when the 2025 season comes. The Glazers should step up and offer him a truckload of cash to stay in Tampa, or else he’s going to leave for a head coaching spot for sure. Go Bucs!!
