Luke Goedeke, the Bucs’ second-round draft pick of the 2022 NFL Draft, is continuing to get better and progress every day. As a second-round pick, Goedeke is expected to eventually be the starter on Tampa Bay’s offensive line, specifically Left Guard. That’s why Jason Licht drafted him.

Goedeke came to us from Central Michigan University. He played right tackle in college but is now lining up at left guard for the Bucs. In an interview after last night’s final preseason game, Goedeke talked about how that transition is going for him, as well as, what it’s like to play with Tom Brady, and how he feels he is progressing as a pro.

Goedeke stated, “I just want to continue to gel with the offensive line, with Tom back there, but overall, I’m pleased with how I’m doing and how I’m progressing. I want to continue to get better and better each week”.
When Goedeke was asked, “what’s the greatest challenge going from playing outside to lining up inside”? Luke answered by saying, “definitely the hardest part has been not only switching from outside to inside, it’s more switching from the right side to the left side. Everything feels backward and opposite, my balance is off, but with more and more reps, I’m only going to get better.”

Goedeke was also asked about “working with the first team during these last two games, what has it done for your confidence in order to be ready to start if you’re asked to”? He responded by saying, “it’s definitely increased my confidence, going from college to the NFL, it’s definitely a big jump, but being able to work with the ones, it’s an opportunity of a lifetime, it’s not something I’m going to take for granted. I’m constantly trying to get better and be ready”.
