Tampa Bay is adding depth at linebacker, at least for now, which is a good thing, considering Lavonte David missed some time last year due to injury.
According to Greg Auman and Adam Caplan, the Bucs have signed linebacker Genard Avery. The Steelers cut Avery on Monday. Avery is a serviceable linebacker, who has a real shot at making the final 53-man roster and is somebody who could provide relief by rotating in every once in a while. He’s still young, being only 27 years old. Avery started 12 games for Philadelphia in 2021, compiling 43 tackles. So far in Avery’s brief career, he has amassed 7.5 career sacks.
