Todd Bowles doesn’t think there is a position of need.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Head Coach Todd Bowles was recently asked if he believes there is any certain position group on the team that can benefit from a free agent signing. Bowles answered by saying, “Not at this time, but it’s always an option. If somebody gets hurt; or if somebody becomes available that we’re interested in, we’re always looking at those types of things.”
Bowles also said, “I think it’s always a good thing so nobody can take a break in practice, and it brings out the best in those type of people. Having some competition this year and pushing some guys is always good”.
Personally, I think it might be a good idea to sign another defensive lineman just to be able to rotate guys in and out, as well as for depth purposes in case of injuries like Todd Bowles was saying.
I wouldn’t mind seeing the Bucs try to get Gerald McCoy back on the team for one last hurrah before he retires. I know he’s coming off of some pretty severe injuries, but as long as he has rehabbed and can get healthy, we can probably get him for cheap, maybe even the veteran minimum. He would be another big body and despite the fact that he might not be a very effective pass rusher anymore, he could certainly be effective at stopping the run. He could also plug up a hole in the run game, allowing somebody else to come free and shoot the gap.
