Tom Brady has been actively recruiting players since announcing his return, and it has brought the 9-year veteran DB to the Buccaneers. Ryan and Brady have a connection to each other, having played stints with the New England Patriots for 4 seasons (2013-2016), winning two Super Bowls. Ryan was drafted by the Patriots in the 3rd round of the 2013 NFL draft.

Brady and the Patriots are not the only connections to Tampa.

According to Joe Buc Fans, Logan Ryan is a product of Greg Schiano. Ryan attended Rutgers 2010-2012 and was coached by Schiano before Schiano left to become the coach of the Buccaneers. I am sorry I drummed such a dark time in Bucs history, but it is an interesting bit of information. Now, toes on the line!

Logan played his career as a corner back but spent the last two seasons playing at safety for the New York Giants, where he played at a high level and started every game. While with the Giants, he played in 31 games, starting in 30, recording 1 interception for 15 yards, 17 passes defended, 5 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries, 2 sacks, and 211 total tackles. I would expect that he will fill in nicely for Jordan Whitehead but can play CB if needed. He will not just be a camp body or depth on this roster. His veteran expertise will certainly help to bolster the Buccaneers’ defensive backfield. The Buccaneers did well in picking up Logan Ryan. If you recall, he intercepted in the 2019 NFL playoffs, ending Brady’s career on a pick 6.
