There is a growing suspicion throughout Buccaneers Fandom that Tampa will be considering a running back. It doesn’t help that Head Coach Bruce Arians was spotted talking to running backs Breece Hall and Rachaad White during the combine.

The cupboard is simply bare when it comes to running backs. Leonard Fournette and Ronald Jones are probably gone. This leaves Ke’Shawn Vaughn the lead back for the upcoming season. The Buccaneers will need to find something to compliment Vaughn.

Breece Hall was the lead back for the Iowa State Cyclones. He rushed for 1,472 yards and 20 touchdowns in the 2021 campaign. The dynamic back showed out at the combine, as well. He posted a 4.39 time in the 40-yard dash. Hall stands 5’11 and weighs 217 pounds. Could he bit the compliment Tampa is looking for? Hall gets a prospect grade of 6.3 from NFL.com. Hall isn’t the only running back that Tampa is looking at this year.

Rachaad White has been linked with the Buccaneers for the upcoming draft, as well. The Arizona State Sun Devil had an impressive combine, as well. White ran a 4.48 40 yard dash. He followed that up with a 38-inch vertical jump. He ran for over 1,000 yards and scored 15 touchdowns on the ground last year. White added 456 yards and a touchdown through the air, as well. He is 6’0 and weighs in at 214 pounds. NFL.com gives White a 5.90 for a prospect grade.

Tampa Bay has some BIG decisions to make this off-season, but I don’t think those plans involve either of our free-agent running backs. Time will tell where we find help for next season. Will it be the NFL Draft or Free Agency?
