It hasn’t even been a week since Tom Brady announced his retirement, and it still feels like there is a hole in many football fans’ hearts. Recently on his Let’s Go Podcast, Brady was asked if there was a possibility that he could come out of retirement; his answer does tease at the possibility that he could pick his cleats back up.
“You know, I’m just gonna take things as they come,” he said. “I think that’s the best way to put it, and I don’t think anything, you know, you never say never. At the same time, I know that I’m very, I feel very good about my decision,” he continued. “I don’t know how I’ll feel six months from now, change, it most likely won’t. But I try to make the best possible decision I can in the moment, which I did this last week. And, again, I think it’s not looking to reverse course. I’m definitely not looking to do that. But at the same time, I think you have to be realistic that you never know what challenges there are gonna be in life. Again, I loved playing. I’m looking forward to doing things other than playing.”
Brady doesn’t plan on coming back to the game and is looking forward to doing something else other than playing, maybe broadcasting? But the lure of the game could prove tantalizing enough to coax him back to the game, similarly to how Brett Favre couldn’t stay away. Doubt that he does come back, but it sure would be neat if he did for one final victory lap.
