The Tampa Bay Buccaneers took a significant blow to the offensive line early on Monday night against the New York Giants when left guard Ali Marpet suffered an Oblique injury that resulted in him missing the rest of the game. Veteran guard Aaron Stinnie was able to take over the left guard position with ease and played more than competently. Thankfully, the team should be in good hands if Marpet is not able to play this week.
Bucs head coach Bruce Arians was asked during Friday’s post-practice address what Ali Marpet’s status was heading into Sunday’s game in Indianapolis. “He will be a game-time decision,” was his reply.
As of now, the veteran left guard is listed as doubtful with an abdomen injury for Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts, but he is expected to play. Whether or not Marpet makes his way onto the field at Lucas Oil Stadium, Aaron Stinnie can take over the position and do so admirably.
