Bucs walking on new ground.

Since the Bucs’ inception into the NFL, there hasn’t been a plethora of truly great seasons —that’s not to say that our Bucs haven’t had their moments: Eleven times, the Bucs have made the playoffs. Most of those eleven ended in a wild-card game loss. Twice the Bucs lost the NFC Championship game, both to the Rams. Twice the Bucs have won it all, bringing home the Lombardi Trophy. There are teams out there that have never won it all, so there are seasons we’ve had to be very proud of. Never in 45 seasons have the Bucs ever been better than 5-1, until now. With the Bears beatdown Sunday afternoon at Ray-Jay 38-3. The Bucs are walking on new ground. They are 6-1 for the first time in franchise history; this really is an accomplishment considering our defensive secondary is held together by tape and band-aids. Hats off to Jason Licht and the coaching staff for bringing in players, coaching them up to hold their own, and keeping the team on the winning side of the column.

Hello Mr. Winston, trick or treat?

On Halloween, the Buccaneers travel to the Big Easy with a matchup with former Bucs’ quarterback Jameis Winston. Probably never in Buc’s history has there been a player that divided Bucs’ fans with such emotion. All I’m going to say about that is this: Winston is a talented player at times; he was a great player for us, his penchant for interceptions in large numbers made him a liability in a game that is a business. He was given every opportunity to turn that around but wasn’t able to. So now he is employed by the Saints and is having a pretty good season so far. Our job is to go in there and destroy him and his team. Personally, I would like to continue piling up w’s and give him two fewer w’s to consume. Our first chance to do that is Sunday in the Superdome. Continuing to set records in the win/loss column would be a beautiful thing, so let’s keep it going Bucs. Uncharted waters can be very rewarding if we take care of business and play hard. Go Bucs!!
