The Buccaneers are likely to be without WR Antonio Brown this week due to him being placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list. In Brown’s absence will be Scotty Miller and Tyler Johnson.
Miller has shown flashes of potential including a huge touchdown before the half in the NFC Championship last season. Scotty has the speed and skill to step into the role of being the third WR behind Mike Evans and Chris Godwin without Brown. Below is what Miller had to say about his connection with the G.O.A.T. Tom Brady.
“Yeah, in the first two weeks, I still would practice with Tom a decent amount. Our connection is still great. Obviously, this whole week I got a ton of reps with him – deep balls and stuff. It’s the same thing as last year and the same thing as the first time when we got together at Berkley High School down here in Tampa. He just does such a great job throwing the ball and he puts it on the money. I mean, he’s the best to ever do it, so it really makes it easy for me and all of us.”
In the Buccaneers offense, players are going to have off weeks due to having so many weapons. Mike Evans was basically invisible in the first game and last week had five receptions for 75 yards and two touchdowns. Scotty Miller has not posted a catch this season yet but his speed will give the Rams defense fits and he should be a big part of the game plan this week. Expect to see Brady throw a few deep shots in the direction of Miller with Evans and Godwin getting the attention.
