Antonio Brown (81) - Si.com
No doubt many will have read the news that Buccaneers wideout, Antonio Brown, has been placed on the NFL COVID reserve list.
Should Brown be unavailable for the upcoming meeting been Tampa Bay and the LA Rams, Brown will miss the game. Go ahead, re-read that last sentence and I’ll meet you below.
Welcome back. The loss of a receiver of Brown’s caliber would be a major blow to 31 teams in the NFL. The only team it wouldn’t is Tampa Bay. For certain, the loss of the veteran receiver would be felt, but the Buccaneers are blessed with a depth of talent that is the envy of everyone else. As everyone slides up a spot, the Rams defense has to account for Evans, Godwin, Miller, Johnson, Darden. That’s not even taking Gronkowski, Brate, or Howard into the passing offense.
The offense will still be ready to play without Brown, or indeed with Brown if he returns back-to-back negative tests. AB doesn’t have to practice in order to play Sunday. All he has to be is eligible.
It will be a close call but should the Bucs be without 81, they will be just fine.
