Buccaneers’ wide receiver Mike Evans’ career has been absolutely stellar. Earning 1,000 yards every season since coming into the league, he has placed his name atop the NFL record books. As good as Mike Evans is, and he certainly feels he is the best receiver on the planet, he says he is working on getting even better.
“I always try to work on YAC. I always try to work on that and be in the best shape possible because if I’m in good shape and I’m healthy, I feel like I’m the best receiver on the planet. I just try to work on that mainly.”
What is Mike working on? Well, everything.
“Each year, I just try to show that I’m a complete receiver. Each year, I just try to get better at everything – deep, underneath, yards after catch, blocking. I just try to get better at everything. I don’t like being a limited player. I like being able to run all the routes.”
The veteran wide receiver also mentioned that he and the team are miles ahead of where they were last season, and that is something that Bucs fans can get really excited about.
“We’re miles ahead of what we were last year. Not just me and his connection, but the whole team – the whole offense. It’s really exciting, and hopefully, we can do something really special this year.”
The Buccaneers kick off the 2021 NFL season at home against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday night and begin their journey of repeating as Super Bowl champions — a feat that has not been achieved since 2003-2004 when a Tom Brady-led New England Patriots snatched up back-to-back championships. History often repeats itself.
