With the Tampa Bay Buccaneers making history recently by re-signing all of their Super Bowl starters, one question remained on the tip of every Bucs fan’s tongue,
“Will Antonio Brown re-sign with Tampa?”
I would think Tom Brady would have some major sway in Antonio Brown’s decision-making.
The Buccaneers are in talks with Brown’s reps, so a deal could be struck very soon. Recently a fan commented on an Instagram Live with Brown that he needed to come back to Tampa. In response, Brown stated that
“Me and playoff Lenny gonna work this out.”
Leonard Fournette has since re-signed.
Let’s not kid ourselves. Yes, Brady has a major influence, but Brown may be paper chasing. With two teams (Ravens and Seahawks) outside of the Buccaneers confirming interest in Antonio Brown, it’s not as if he doesn’t have other teams from which to sign.
Recently John Clayton Mentioned:
“According to sources, Wilson would love to add Antonio Brown. Brown is also close with backup quarterback Geno Smith, whose one-year contract with the Seahawks was finalized Wednesday.”
Seahawks took a look a Brown a couple of times in the recent past.
As inconceivable as it may sound that another team could drag Antonio Brown away from Tom Brady, stranger things have happened and it is rumor season. Heck, there’s even a rumor that Tampa is making a strong push for Larry Fitzgerald. You know, the guy who said he wouldn’t play for any other team.
