The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were a talented team that lacked leadership at the quarterback position last season. Jameis Winston lit up the scoreboard on both sides, unfortunately, with his touchdown and interception passes. New Head Coach Bruce Arians knew he had to make some changes if the Buccaneers were going to accomplish anything the following season. Enter Tom Brady!

Things in New England deteriorated quickly, and the legendary quarterback hit the open market for the first time in his career. Jason Licht, Bruce Arians, and the rest of the organization enticed him into bringing greatness back to the bay. As fans rejoiced throughout Tampa and the world, their cheers quickly became fears when the NFL was in jeopardy of canceling the 2020-21 season due to Covid-19.

The Buccaneers would need to learn and grow on the fly this season if they wanted to be successful. No offseason, limited workouts, and plenty of zoom meetings made up the NFL preseason. Unfortunately, Week 1 led Tampa into New Orleans. Ouch! We will just leave that one right there because all Tampa Bay fans know what happened; multiple times.

All was for the best, though. The Buccaneers persevered and now find themselves in the Super Bowl playing against the Kansas City Chiefs. As good as the 20-21 NFL season has been for Brady, he believes that next year will be even better for the Buccaneers. In a statement from Brady, “I think next year is going to be a lot better than this year. I feel like I’ll be in a much better place mentally. I’m going to train better this year. As soon as the game ends, we are onto the next season.”

This is a hard idea to fathom, considering where the Buccaneers sit currently. Brady, age 43, threw for 4,633 yards, 40 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. These are pretty good numbers for the legendary quarterback. Remember this is with a new system and virtually no offseason. The Buccaneers knew Brady would cut the interceptions and felt that alone would get them into the playoffs. The NFL has officially been put on notice, and the former MVP may be looking to add another MVP trophy to his collection in 2021-22.
