One of the big question marks heading into the Bucs 2nd Super Bowl was whether or not starting rookie safety and future stud Antoine Winfield Jr would take the field. Much to the shock of many fans, Winfield did not play in the NFC championship game against Green Bay after aggravating his ankle. Bucs HC Bruce Arians has been positive but frustratingly cryptic over the status of several starters including Winfield since the report of the injury. That was, until Winfield himself spoke to the press this week.
“The ankles feeling good and I’m going to play in the game,” he said when questioned. “It is 100% go.”
Breathe a sigh a relief Bucs fans. He’s back.
