According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Buccaneers LB Lavonte David and the organization have been quietly working on a contract extension. The details of the extension have not yet been revealed but David will be deserving of every bit of it. This is the final season of David’s current contract and he is set to make $10.75M.

As a key member of the Buccaneers defense for nearly a decade, Lavonte David has been underrated across the league. David has been nearly on par with LB’s Bobby Wagner and Luke Kuechly since he entered the league but always gets overlooked because he plays in Tampa. In his career, Lavonte David has 1,008 tackles and recorded over 100 tackles in seven of eight seasons as a Buccaneer. With the addition of QB Tom Brady this offseason, all eyes will be on Tampa and David will finally get the recognition that he deserves.
