Buccaneer’s WR Chris Godwin has been named to NFL.com’s all under 25 team and deservedly so. In just his third season after being drafted in the third round out of Penn State, the 23-year-old WR has established himself as one of the top WRs in the league. At the beginning of last season, HC Bruce Arians predicted that Godwin could see 100 catches by the season’s end, and he came damn close. In 14 games, Godwin managed to snag 86 receptions for 1,333 yards and 9 TDs. Had Godwin not missed the final 2 games with an injury, he very well could have had those 100 catches that Arians predicted.
This upcoming season Godwin will again have a very good chance at topping 100 catches, and the additions of QB Tom Brady and TE Rob Gronkowski definitely increase those chances. Look for Godwin to become a favorite target for Brady as this season looks as bright as any in recent memory for Godwin and the Buccaneers.
