“There’s been no decision on any player. We don’t make those decisions until the end of the season.” – Buccaneers’ head coach, Bruce Arians.
Wait a min. So, I’m not the only one who caught this interesting footnote. NBC Sports – ProFooballTalk writer Michael David Smith also caught it. Bruce Arians recently stated that Shaq Barrett wasn’t going anywhere. hold on? So a decision was made before the end of the season?
“Arians’ claim that no decisions have been made about “any player” flies in the face of his statement last week that pass rusher Shaq Barrett isn’t going anywhere. If no decision has been made about any player, how can Arians claim that Barrett will remain in Tampa in 2020?” – Michael David Smith.
Here is what we know.
The Glazers are not happy or at least a few weeks ago were not happy, and things were told to us. Things like: “Do not be surprised if Jameis Winston and Jason Licht were out of here at the end of the season.” I already know what you are going to say, “But Licht just got a five-year extension, fake news!” And you may very well be right, but let’s not forget how unforgiving the Glazer kids can be. As for Winston, I even argued with my source, because we found out from one of our other sources, one is involved with NFL contracts, that around that time they were working on a deal for Jameis Winston.
The Dilly Yo.
Everything that we know hinges on how the season ended, and to me, it seems to be going very well for Winston despite the turnovers. Whether or not I or anyone thinks he will be back, which I do 100 percent, does not matter. What matters is what the Glazers think. Arians could fight to keep Jameis Winston if he so chooses to and I think he will, but nothing is set in stone because it is ultimately up to the Glazers.
