This past Thursday the Bucs faced off Against Cam Newton and whatever that was on his head. The result was not good for Newton who threw errant pass after errant pass when he wasn’t picking himself up off the turf. Yes, sir, this defense is the real deal something the Bucs haven’t had in a very long time, and the defensive backfield actually looked like the best part.
After a goal-line stand where CB Vernon Hargreaves, who had the game of his life I might add with 12 tackles, shoved RB Christian McCaffrey out of bounds on 4th and 2 ending any hope the Panthers had. Hargreaves wasn’t alone many players chipped in.
OLB Shaq Barrett had 3 sacks on the night 2 of which were in a row. Along with him, Kevin Minter held his own after an injury to rookie MLB Devin White. Rookie OLB Anthony Nelson had his first career batted pass and forced a fumble. Last but certainly not least S Jordan Whitehead was all over the field making plays in the box and coverage.
Yes, this defense is young but it’s just getting started. They have only allowed 1 TD in 8 quarters. We could have a top 5 defense on our hands.
