Thursday night’s matchup against the Panthers will provide many Bucs fans with a familiar face. We’re not talking about Cam Newton or Christian McCaffrey, we’re talking former Buc and 6-time Pro Bowler Gerald McCoy.

McCoy was released in the off-season after spending 9 years in red and pewter (before signing a 1 year deal with Carolina), only to replaced 24 hours later with Ndamukong Suh. McCoy is who ranked 4th in Bucs franchise history with 53.5 sacks; was criticized by fans and even Hall of Fame and Buccaneer Ring of Honor member Warren Sapp, when articles spun up about McCoy upset over Suh being allowed to wear #93.

One thing is for sure, McCoy could very well could be the wildcard against the Bucs. Some have speculated he is out for blood, while others believe he’s not going to even be a factor. Guaranteed, he will be on that line across from Jameis Winston. Only this time, it’s not practicing, and there will be contact.

How’s tonight going to play out when these division rivals square off in prime-time? Tune in at 8:20 pm to find out.
