After a rainy start at Raymond James Stadium, it was a scoreless first quarter. However, the Dolphins would go-ahead and attempt a 45-yard field goal to take a 3-0 lead with 12:10 left in the second quarter. The Bucs would answer back with a 32 yard Matt Gay field goal to tie the game with 2:33 left in the second quarter before the half ended the Dolphins would take the lead back before heading to the locker room.

The third quarter would be scoreless, but the offense would finally pick up in the fourth quarter, but the Bucs tied the game on a 23 yard Cairo Santos field goal with 9:56 left to go in the game. The Bucs would get the ball back and take their first lead of the night with a 4-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Griffin to Tanner Hudson to give the Bucs the 13-6 lead. The Dolphins would answer back with an 8-yard touchdown pass to Patrick Laird, and the Dolphins would choose the go for two to grab the lead with time running out, and the Dolphins would succeed on the two-point try.

However, the Dolphins did not think about the legs of rookie kicker Matt Gay, as the Ryan Griffin would lead the Bucs down the field into Gay’s range. Matt Gay was good from 48 yards with 0:06 seconds left to give the Bucs the win. The Bucs will remain at Raymond James Stadium to take on a very talented Cleveland Browns team on Friday night at 7:30 for the third preseason game of the season. When you think about how the last preseason game ended is your question is the kickers curse over in Tampa Bay? I sure hope so.
