This Defense Is Aggressive

1 min read

last week, against the Dolphins, we were given another a preview of Todd Bowles new 3-4 defense. It was extremely aggressive as it was the week prior. They lined up in three and even four-man fronts at times, and the defense was extremely blitz heavy. The defense showed many different looks to confuse the QB. The beauty of Bowle’s defense is that you never know where the blitz is coming from, you just know it’s coming.

Shaquil Barrett showed what he can do with a sack and an assisted Patrick O’Connor with a sack. LB Jack Cichy looks as he’s finally healthy. He finished with 5 tackles. Third round draft pick Jamel Dean had an INT in the end zone and managed to get his hands on another.

Our new defense is a far cry from Mike Smith’s vanilla zone coverage scheme, but this defense is exciting to watch and should wreak havoc on opposing quarterbacks this season.
