Guided By The Licht: Bucs GM Jason Licht gets contract extension.
1 min read
The man many love to hate has received a 4-year contract extension per Tampa Bay Times writer Rick Stroud.
His contract will run neck and neck with head coach Bruce Arians’ contract as Licht was given the extension just a few days after Arians was signed.
Jason Licht became the Buccaneers GM in 2014 and has a 27-53 record. Arians and Licht oversaw the progression of the Arizona Cardinals from a 5-11 team under head coach Ken Whisenhunt to a 10-6 team under head coach Bruce Arians. Ideally, this is the plan for the Buccaneers.
Licht recently was given a one-year prove-it contract and even before the regular season kicks off, gained a nice new contract. For a guy that many fans feel is the main problem with our team, it seems the Glazers believe otherwise and are pleased with his productivity. It looks like we will be “guided by the Licht” for a little while longer.
