In Case You Missed It: Bucs released Tight End Troy Niklas

1 min read

Two days ago, the Buccaneers parted ways with Troy Niklas, who had recently landed on the IR list. The Bucs did give him a settlement agreement, so he at least leaves with cash and prizes, and an old Gerald McCoy Bobble-Head doll that nobody wanted. Troy was another player signed on for camp this year because of his connection to Bruce Arians. The Cards drafted Niklas in 2014 in the second round.

In April of last year, he signed with the Patriots, but was released by them a few months later. He then signed a contract with the Bucs, but landed on the IR last week. He was then was released by us on Tuesday.

We wish the young man the best of luck in healing up from his current injury, and finding another chance in the NFL. He has some tools, so maybe he can get back up on the horse sooner than later.

Niklas played in 41 games during four seasons with the Cardinals, recording 19 receptions for 203-yards and 3 TDs
