After being an arrest for violation of a protective order last weekend, Greg Spires was seen by some as a victim and by others as a monster.

Spires said in court on Monday that he wants to have a relationship with his daughter and actually has joint custody of her.

In 2005 he was accused by his ex-wife at the time of domestic violence, but was never charged with the crime. He instead agreed to participate in anger management classes. He has since had multiple restraining orders placed on him by his ex-wife, and most recent order states that he is not to be within 500 feet of his daughter or attend any school functions.

Greg Spires is a father who wants nothing more than to have a relationship with his daughter only to be thrown behind bars and demonized in the public eye for his efforts. I guess for some, that makes for a good story.
