Todd McNair Expects A Lot of Good Things From ROJO
1 min read
Todd McNair beings his first season as the Buccaneers running backs, coach. His latest coaching job was coaching USC Trojans’ running backs from 2004-10. Unfortunately, the scandal at USC with Reggie Bush took a lot out of McNair, and it made him take a few years off of coaching. McNair returned to coaching when Bruce Arians called him up earlier this year.
McNair coached former USC great, Heisman Trophy winner, and Super Bowl Champion Reggie Bush and now since McNair is Jones’ positions coach he hopes to help Jones’ regain his confidence.
Last season Jones had 44 rushing yards, rushing touchdown, 7 receptions, 33 receiving yards, and no receiving touchdowns. McNair believes a lot of that had to do with the pressure of being a second round pick and his confidence waning a bit. McNair said that ROJO is young and a little immature, but also says he’s a good kid, working hard, and expects a lot of great things from him.
Todd McNair was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs and played there until 1993, then he moved on to play for the Houston Oilers for two seasons from 1994-1995. McNair returned to the Chiefs for one season where he finished out his career for one season in 1996, before he found his calling in coaching.
