Arian’s Says Godwin Will Never Leave The Field

After two stellar seasons for the Bucs, mostly as a 3rd receiver, WR Chris Godwin is about to get a promotion. New head coach Bruce Arians said that Godwin will never leave the field. Godwin will play on the outside, but will slide into the slot on 3WR sets. Much like Arians did with Larry Fitzgerald during his Cardinal days.
Arians likes a tall, athletic slot receiver, and Godwin fits the bill. At 6’1″ and 210 lbs, Godwin is an intimidating receiver to cover, and his 4.4 speed along with his 36-inch vert, things won’t be any easier for DBs. You can expect Godwin to get near 100 catches this season now, that the former number two receiver DeSean Jackson has been traded.
