High Praise For Chris Godwin

1 min read

With the departure of DeSean Jackson and Adam Humphries, it’s a given that 3rd year WR Chris Godwin will inevitably see a few more targets this coming season. This all, of course, rides on how new Head Coach Bruce Arians feels about Godwin’s skill set, and how he can be utilized in the new scheme.

Coach Arians touched on Godwin and what we can expect from him this year at the Annual League meeting. “I think Chris Godwin is gonna be close to a 100 catch guy,” said Arians. He also went on to say that a big reason he feels that way is because Godwin can play in the slot position. Arians even went further on to say that, “He’s never coming off the field.” That’s some high praise from your Head Coach, and it looks like Godwin will be seeing a much bigger role in this offense this season.

We saw a huge increase in production from his rookie season to his 2nd year when he was given a bigger role, I think we can expect the same from last season to this season. If that does turn out to be true, we can expect a monster season from Godwin this year.
