Is Jameis Winston The future?

2 min read

One of the most important questions facing this team, will the real Jameis please stand up? Which Jameis is the real one? Is it the Champion at FSU or the turnover-prone QB of the Tampa Bay Bucs? However, you may feel, the Bucs will have to answer those questions this year. The quarterback market is very high.

Nick Foles landed a 4-year $88 million deal with incentives that could take it as high as $102 million and Jameis Winston will be due for a HUGE payday next year. But is Winston worth that kind of commitment after four average years? Is he worth that commitment next year after one good year?

Let’s talk about expectations.
How many wins would the Bucs need for the 2019 season to be considered a success? I say about 10. Why? Because Koetter got us to 9 wins and he had no clue what he was doing. It’s fair to want Arians to do better because he is a better coach, a better game planner, and a better adjustment maker on Sundays.

What are our expectations for our quarterback?
If you’re reading this, I would love to hear your answer to that question. What numbers does Jameis have to put up for him to be worth that type of contract? Would a better idea be franchise tagging him and hoping he has another good year?

I think Winston has the tools to be a good QB.
His issue and this goes for all the players, was the coaching staff. From what a couple of players have publicly stated, it seemed like this coaching staff didn’t listen to player input and frustrated many of the players. Winston himself insinuated that he had to be himself and not what someone else wanted him to be. Now is Winston’s time and he has to answer the call. Bruce Arians is a proven coach he’s not Dirk Koetter or Lovie Smith. He’s made quarterbacks better everywhere he has been. We now have a dream coaching staff, and Winston is the one player that will benefit the most from it.

IT’S TIME BUCS FANS!!! THIS IS THE YEAR THAT WE START BUILDING TOWARDS THE ULTIMATE GOAL!!!

We all want Winston to be the one to get us there, and for his sake, he needs to be the franchise QB he was drafted to be.
