Peyton Barber Deal in The Works?

It should be.
It is expected that the RFA running back will either receive a tender or get a new deal soon. Of course, any deals made at this point must be cap-friendly as the Bucs do not have too much wiggle room.
Barber could fetch a multiple-year contract extension which would give the Buccaneers a little more room with the cap, and also work out in Barber’s favor.
Peyton Barber produced in a terrible run scheme last year that was accompanied by even worse run blocking in most situations. With the new offensive coaching staff in place, those issues should be quickly resolved and we should see a vast improvement in the running game, with Barber leading the position.
The former undrafted free agent isn’t likely to fetch many suitors, so he should remain in a Bucs uniform.
The question is for how long?
