Free Agency Rumors: Kwon Alexander

It’s that time! The tampering period is in full swing, and rumors will begin flinging across digital screens everywhere.

The newest one recently stuck to my screen is about Kwon Alexander. Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times recently tweeted that the Buccaneers are bracing themselves to lose Humphries and Alexander. He also cites that Alexander is being sought after by the 49ers and the Jets. While many more of these types of pursuits will surely surface, I do not have any doubts to the there being truth in that there are teams drooling over Alexander despite him being injured last year.

Stroud also states that Kwon is seeking an elite deal worth $10-$12 million per year. Whether or not he fetches that kind of moola is unknown at this point, but I don’t see why not. I do know that the Buccaneers value him, but haven’t publicly stated what number that value incurs.

Today starts the beginning of free agency and player may speak to other organizations, technically starting at noon, but cannot sign with a team until 4pm on March 13th. The idea that the Jets and the 49ers are likely pursuing Alexander, makes sense and the 49ers may be the spot Kwon finds himself for 2019.

#Bucs are bracing to lose WR Adam Humphries and/or LB Kwon Alexander to free agency. Humphries could get $9-million to $10-million APY with Jets as a big suitor. Alexander is being pursued by the Jets and 49ers and seeking an elite deal between $10-million $12-million APY.
