In a recent, confusing sort of event, the Atlanta Falcons have released Veteran place Kicker, Matt Bryant.
From Matt Bryant’s Instagram:
Bryant signed a 3-year $10,100,000 extension, last March, that would have kept him locked into the team until 2020.
Matt Bryant is well known by Tampa fans as the man, who kicked the 62-yard FG against the Eagles on October 23, 2006.
Here’s that kick:
The Falcons must have their reason for moving on from the Veteran Kicker who over his 10-year stint in Atlanta, played in 141 games, hitting 388 FG’s out of 450 attempts, and 553 extra points out of 560 attempts.
Maybe it’s the money, or maybe the Falcons want to move on with someone fresher and younger. However, I would not mind seeing Tampa bring the 18- veteran leg man back to Raymond James Stadium.
