Alex Cappa a Better Chance to Start?

1 min read

Tampa Bay selected Alex Cappa, with the 94th pick in the 3rd round, He was a swing tackle at Humboldt college.

Tampa Bay moved him inside to right guard, and he didn’t play a down until week 11 which is concerning. The horrible play from the right guard position should’ve seen him make his regular season debut, but Dirk sat him.

With Bruce Arians coming aboard, I believe Alex is given a shot at the starting right guard. I see Bruce Arians signing a guard in free agency, and/or draft one in the upcoming draft to come in and compete with Alex Cappa. The Humboldt college product was in for only 104 snaps on offense, which is only 9% of the total offensive snaps this season.

It’s just too early to give up on a third-round pick from the 2018 draft. With this in mind, Tampa Bay coach Bruce Arians should at least see how he fairs in training camp.
