Perfect QB rating 158.3
The 2nd year Bucs’ starter went 27-32 for 359 yards, 5 touchdowns, and no picks. That all comes out to a QB rating of 153.0, nearly perfect. The Panthers are not loaded in the defensive backfield, and it showed. Baker Mayfield sliced and diced his way through them with ease, connecting with nine different receivers. Mike Evans was one of those receivers, finishing with 9 catches for 97 yards, and set the cannons off twice for scores. This will be 4 out of the last 5 seasons with double-digit touchdowns. In addition, Evans will only need 85 more yards to tie Jerry Rice for 11 straight 1000-yard seasons in the Saints Finale. For Evans, it’s been 1000 for every season in this league, Which is a record he holds all by himself if he can get his 85 next week. Jalen McMillan had another nice game with two scores and continues to make strides.
Simply a fantastic pick
Bucky Irving again showed why he was a steal in the 4th round (125th overall) for Jason Licht. Rushing for 113 yards on 20 carries for a 5.7-yard average. Irving has a chance to break RoJo’s franchise record on yards per carry for a season of 5.3. As it stands, Irving is at 5.1 after the Panthers’ game. I’m betting he gets the record against the Saints.
