No let downs on the homestretch: Dallas Cowboys

Treat the three remaining games the same.

This is not the time for looking at your opponent’s win/loss record or being interested in how well or badly this opponent played in their last game. The remaining three games on the schedule should be viewed as a three-headed monster.  Each week, you kill one of the heads. Leave the stadium having lost to any one of them, and this year’s dream is very possibly over and done. Dallas has been awful this season and even worse without Dak Prescott. Cooper Rush is not a starting quality QB in this league. That’s not to say he can’t beat you; he has his moments like anyone. The lone bright spot, Rico Dowdle, a rookie out of the University Of South Carolina, has rushed for 392 yards in his last three games. Dowdle is averaging 7.0 yards a carry in that span. Don’t think it won’t be another recipe of the same, and they will try to run it down Todd Bowles’ throat! Even with our banged-up backfield, if you stop the Cowboys’ running game, heads will roll.

Do some serious damage.

Any analyst worth their salt will tell you that if the Bucs make it into the playoffs, they can play with anybody out there. They could do some serious damage to the expected scenarios of a contending team’s Super Bowl Parade plans. In other words, “WATCH OUT MAN, THIS KID ILL BITE-CHA!”.  If the running game is happening, and Mayfield plays his game, this team can play with anyone. They might have to score 52 points to get it done, but so be it. On the other hand, if the Bucs go in flat against any of the playoff teams, it could get disgusting quickly. You know how it is, folks. None of this has escaped you, the fan. The Bucs do “control their own destiny” in every sense of that statement.

The hard way.

Nobody said winning the division was going to be easy. The Bucs shot themselves in the foot a few times this season (both Falcon games, KC, 49ers). Those four games could have been wins, as the team was neck-to-neck with all of them and had their chances to win. Nobody said it would be pretty with sprinkles. The team must go into each of the three remaining games playing their best football. Underestimations, phoning it in, being caught flat-footed, and complacency have no foothold and should be avoided at all costs. First up, Dallas. Go Bucs!!
