October 13th is a day when linemen brought incredible relief to Tampa Bay.

Crews and linemen have been working for days to bring much-needed comfort and power to residents of Tampa Bay after hurricanes left many helpless and homeless.

The Buccaneers jumped aboard their linemen to give their fans a break from reality and delight in a victory over their NFC South rival Saints.

Believe me, Bucs fans will take a win over the Saints any time and any day.  Yet, this 51-27 landslide was as refreshing as much-needed AC in sweltering heat.

The Buccaneers offensive line powered its way to nearly 600 yards of offense, including 277 yards on the ground, and powered Tampa Bay to a 4-2 record.

Just like millions of Tampa Bay residents, the Buccaneers also battled Helene and Milton.  But, the organization flew the team and its families early to Louisiana away from the storms.  Still, the players and staff suffered from afar with news of storm damage.

Like much of October, emotions ruled the day.  The Buccaneers stormed out to a 17-0 lead. In the second quarter, the Buccaneers fell victim to the Saints surge. New Orleans swept over the Buccaneers with 27 points. Baker Mayfield suffered three interceptions and looked like many a Buccaneer quarterback that has been stifled by the Saints defense.

In the second half, the Buccaneer ground game gave Mayfield a chance to find his wits and poise.

Sean Tucker followed his lineman with 136 yards and a touchdown on the ground.  Bucky Irving added another 81 and a score.  The Buccaneers had the third most yards rushing in a game in team history.  They averaged 7.9 yards a carry.  No secret the Buccaneers have been looking for a run game in recent years.  It finally came alive in the second half.

And Mayfield took advantage.  After the three interceptions in the first half, Mayfield ended up with 325 yards passing and four touchdowns.  Chris Godwin was dominant with 11 catches for 125 yards and two touchdowns.

The Buccaneer offensive line opened the way for 594 yards and 31 first downs.

Now the Buccaneers return home to reality and the unknown of what Milton did to their homes. And true reality sets in Monday night when the Buccaneers face Baltimore.
