When it comes to success in team sports, there are many ways to accomplish your goals. There are many formats for a team to be able to win and keep winning year in and year out. In the National Football League, one of the best ways to succeed is consistency from one year to the next, having the same or a very similar system or carrying over the same group of guys to be able to work within a system constantly in order to perfect it.
Jason Licht’s name has been passed around a lot in the last few years. Since 2019, which is also the same year the Bucs signed Bruce Arians to be their head coach, 30 out of 46 drafted players still remain on the team. Just when you thought that was a cool stat, 44 of the 53 men on the Buccaneers roster for the 2024 season will have either been drafted or started their careers as an undrafted free agent with the Bucs.

For the average fan, there is little to no knowledge about much as it pertains to the comings and goings at “One Buc Place.” — well, give me a chance to introduce a vast majority of the staff that, at least for this year, is responsible for bringing in 7 rookies, who are as it looks: definitely making the 53-man roster, and most of them will likely contribute on the field.
Here are some of the people on the staff like Mike Greenberg (Assistant General Manager), John Spytek (Assistant General Manager), Shelton Quarles (Director of Football Operations), Mike Biehl (Director of Player Personnel), Duke Preston (Vice President of Player Engagement), Jacqueline Davidson (Vice President of Football Research), Rob McCartney (Director of Player Personnel), Bruce Arians (Senior Advisor to The General Manager), Byron Kiefer (Senior Personnel Executive), Andy Speyer (National Scout), Donovan Cotton (Assistant Director of Pro Scouting), Tony Hardie (Assistant Director of College Scouting), Antwon Murray (National Scout), Brian McLaughlin (College Scout), Cesar Rivera (College Scout), Shane Scannell (Director of Pro Scouting), Sean Conley (Assistant Director of Pro Scouting), Zach Smith (College Scout), Peighton Roth (Scouting Coordinator), Shannon Hogue (Pro Scout), Emmett Clifford (College Scout), Korey Finnie (NFS/Combine Scout), Tyler Thompson (Player Engagement Coordinator).
That’s a small list of the men and women who bring the team we love together.
The Buccaneers have built a culture that has them coming and staying! With the continued hard work of the staff at One Buc Place, we, as Buccaneer fans, have a lot to be ecstatic and happy about, but even more to be thankful and grateful for. This roster has taken a lot of hard work and dedication over the years, and with leadership like Jason Licht taking charge, the Bucs will stay in a great place.
