Trade Peter to Pay Paul?

The Buccaneers could be facing an interesting decision in the near future. A decision that could impact them for years to come and cause a rift in the fan base. Would the Buccaneers part ways with Chris Godwin in order to pay Tristan Wirfs?

The offensive line has to be the main focus with Tampa locking up Baker Mayfield and Mike Evans, but to part ways with Godwin would be a shocker. He has surpassed 1,000 yards in four of his seven years with the Buccaneers. Godwin has almost 6,700 yards and 34 touchdowns during his tenure in Tampa. He was also a key contributor in the Buccaneers’ Super Bowl run late in the season. The injury bug has bitten the star wide receiver a couple of times, though. Would this be enough for the Buccaneers to let him walk or possibly trade him?

Wirfs is the next face of the franchise. He has shown he is a Pro Bowl-caliber left and right tackle. Once Mike Evans hangs it up, Tristan Wirfs easily becomes the most beloved Buc. He is going to get the biggest money bag Jason Licht can offer, and rightfully so. What can the Buccaneers do to keep both, or would the acquisition of Jalen McMillan and Sterling Shepard keep the wide receiver room competitive enough in 2024?
